Use of essential oils

The method most indicated for your home, meditation room, office, etc, is a small stove. With the heat of a candle you warm up a small clay pot where you pour water and 5 to 10 drops of essential oils.

You may use a clay pendant around your neck or a handkerchief with your selected scent. There are clay rings that are placed upon the bedside lamps and there you pour the scents of your favorite oils that will get evaporated with the heat of the lamp, aromatizing and setting up the place.

When applying it on your skin, the oil penetrates through its pores entering to your system where they dilute in neutral oils as wheat germ, sesames, and almonds or in neutral creams for massage.

When the aromas dilute in oils they can be used as perfumes. Oils can be used in immersion baths pouring from 10 to 15 drops in the water. When the combinations are made with therapeutic aims it is important to have into account:
  1. Do not mix essential oils with opposite effects.
  2. Do not use more than 3 to 4 oils.
  3. The mixture must be pleasing to you.

The oils correctly used for aromatherapy do not produce any unpleasant effects or contradictions. Any way we have to keep in mind:
  • Not taking them.
  • Do not exceed that quantity of drops or the time of use.
  • Do not use during pregnancy: Basil, camphor, marjoram, hyssop, myrrh, clove, bergamot, cedar, salvia and rosemary.
  • Do not put in contact with the skin: Cinnamon, clove, bergamot, common juniper, ginger, lemon, mint, pine and thyme.
  • Do not use in case of epilepsy: Rosemary and salvia.
  • Keep any scent away from children.
  • Do not take a tan alter applying on your skin: bergamot, pommel, orange, lemon and angelic.
