Magical scents. Part I

Old civilizations used fragrances to obtain the benefits from astral powers. In eastern cultures, fragrances were related to the planets like this:

• Mars: Benzoin
• Jupiter: Aloe and gray amber
• Sun: Incense and cinnamon
• Moon: Jasmine and camphor
• Venus: Sandalwood and musk
  
  The Romans offered to their stars the next substances:

• Saffron to the sun
• Pistachio to the moon
• Cassia to Jupiter– Musk to Mercury
• Gray amber to Venus
  

Why these relations came up? What lead to determine which essence or perfume could be for this and that star or divinity? Back then, it was more common the encounter with the rhythm of the nearest stars as the Moon and the Sun, since they knew that our planet depends on the relationship with them.

Men have also worried in observing the relationship between the characteristics of the plants as for their size, color, cultivation place and the characteristics of the planets according to astrology.
